This is the wedding video of Kelsey and Tom, which was captured in Anchorage, AK. As a team of passionate wedding videographers, we love being able to travel, film, and celebrate with wedding couples all over the world. Kelsey and Tom are an amazing couple, and here is a little bit more about them and their story:
Kelsey and Tom had things in common before they even met…they both liked the outdoors, being active, and didn’t spend much time on the internet. Ironically, they met online but the internet was kind to them. After having met each other online and going out on one date, they ended their relationship with the internet and found one in each other.
Over the course of their six years of dating, Kelsey and Tom always treated themselves to a getaway trip to celebrate their anniversary and this anniversary was no different. The two took a trip to the Oregon coast to do some exploring and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Tom was adamant about visiting Ecola State Park, despite heavy rain and wind. They hiked the trail and battled Mother Nature to the beach that Tom wanted to visit. When they arrived, Tom tossed a piece of driftwood and told Kelsey to look at it. When she looked a little closer she noticed the date of their anniversary and thought the sentiment and homemade gift was the perfect touch to their six year anniversary celebration. However, when she turned around to Tom the true anniversary gift was waiting for her…Tom down on one knee and proposing.
Kelsey and Tom said, “I do” in-front of family and friends on the anniversary of when they met and got engaged. Every aspect of the wedding spoke to who Kelsey and Tom are as individuals, but more importantly who they are as a couple. Their venue had roaming chickens and everything from their shoes to the food was vegan. Their favorite moments from the day included their first look where all the anticipation of that day came to and resulted in pure joy and happiness and at their reception where all of their guests were seated at a giant table that created a family style atmosphere.
The newly married couple treated themselves to a month-long anniversary. They started on the island of Kauai then rented a campervan in New Zealand, where they hiked, toured vineyards, and saw penguins in their natural habitat. Amongst their world travels, they had a day-long layover in Australia where they were able to see the Australian wildlife and the Blue Mountains.
Shannyn: What are you looking forward to as you start your married life?
Kelsey: We both agree that we basically felt married before we even were because we had been together for some time, owned a house together, and virtually do almost everything together. I think for us, the most exciting part of this new chapter in our lives is the added pride that comes with the titles of “husband” and “wife.” We both feel more proud and excited now that we are married and are just excited to grow together!
Shannyn: How was working with Adam?
Kelsey: I heard of Adam somewhat indirectly via social media and a friend of a friend of a friend who had shared a film he made years ago. Tom and I were dating at the time and I just made a mental note about Adam and decided to keep an eye on his work, hopeful that someday when Tom and I got married we could hire Adam as well. Of course, I reached out to Adam once we were planning our wedding and he was a blast to work with. I was a little nervous since we did not meet him until just a couple of days before the wedding but he was AWESOME! He worked really well with our photographer, and I honestly thought that I would feel like the paparazzi were following us on the wedding day and that it might feel weird or detract from the day, but I did not feel that way at all! Adam worked so efficiently and was so fun and kind. We are so happy to have worked with him. I would recommend him in a heartbeat!
