Congratulations to Adelee and Victor for the wedding celebration that took place on August 31st, 2013. It was an amazing day and I had a blast shooting this mountain top wedding. I also wanted to give special thanks to Briony Bohm with Briony Hope Photography for shooting Adelee + Victor’s wedding with me. You are a talented photographer and I enjoyed working alongside you. Briony was also able to record a short interview she had with the couple that you can read below:

Briony: What was the best part of your wedding day?

Adelee/Bride: The best part of our wedding day for me was the gondola ride down from the mountain with my new husband after the reception with our best friends and family.

B: What advice would you give to future brides/grooms?

A: I would advise them to enjoy every minute and not stress because it flies by.

B: Where did you go on your honeymoon?

A We got married in Vail and then spent the next two weekends on mini vacations to a music festival and then to Nashville, TN. We plan on having a “honeymoon” when we both have longer breaks form school.

B: If you could do it all over again what, if anything, would you change?

A: I would not change one thing.

Adelee

Victor

Briony: What was the best part of your wedding day?

Victor/Groom: Most people wouldn’t enjoy this but, it actually started hailing lightly on us during the ceremony and I loved it. We actually didn’t even pay any attention to it and just seemed like it was part of it all.

B: What advice would you give to future brides/grooms?

V: Definitely live with someone for a while before you make it official. I’m still finding things out that make me want to pull my hair out, even after 9 years. But I still love her

B: Where did you go on your honeymoon?

V: Everyday has been a honeymoon! But with our wedding being designated a “destination wedding” it was sort of a wedding and honeymoon in one, so we wanted to wait a little while and do a more official honeymoon later on.

B: If you could do it all over again what, if anything, would you change?

Nothing at all

Prior to the wedding, Briony was also to do a very quick engagement session with Adelee + Victor. Here are is a sneak peek of the engagement shoot and also a short interview about their engagement:

Briony: How did the two of you meet?

Adelee: We met our freshman year at a high school pep assembly.

B: Why do you love Victor?

A: I love Victor because he is my best friend who always makes me laugh and feel content.

B: What was the proposal like?

A: The proposal was eventful. In fact, there were two. I said “yes” both times.

B: What advice would you give to anyone who is planning a wedding?

A: I would advise anyone to do what is best for you and your future husband because it is your wedding, and you will never be able to please everyone.

Briony:  How did the two of you meet?

Victor/Groom: Two wide-eyed young’ins met across a gymnasium row of seats for the first time as high school freshmen during a pep rally. We were only friends at first, but it would soon blossom into a lifelong infatuation for each other.

B: Why do you love Adelee?

V: I love Adelee because there is never a moment when I’m not thinking of her. She is the reason for my life’s joy and understanding, and there is no one else that could give me such happiness.

B: What was the proposal like?

V: Well, we actually had two! And they were so much fun! The first one didn’t go as planned but made sense to the people that know us. We had plans to go to Mexico and I was prepared to propose there but I actually broke my jaw two days before the trip. So before I went into surgery I had asked Adelee to grab a random shoe out of our closet that contained her engagement ring, she was really confused. It may have been from the morphine, but after my accident I didn’t want to wait any longer, so I found the strength to get out of the hospital bed and get down on one knee. It was perfect. But I wanted a more formal and deserving proposal for Adelee. I had already planned an engagement party for about a month after I was planning to propose, so I waited till my jaw was not wired shut anymore (5 weeks wired closed). Her birthday was actually 2 days before our party so I thought that was the perfect time. I filled our downstairs with hundreds of candles and a couple dozen framed pictures of us from throughout our relationship. She walked into our back door and walked through the house with only candlelight and our first dance song playing in the background. I was in the middle of a sea of candles and waiting for her at the other end of our house. We were both crying and honestly I don’t remember what either of us said, but it didn’t matter.

B: What advice would you give to anyone who is planning a wedding?

V: Don’t plan one. I’m kidding, definitely plan one, but I would say don’t stress out to much about it, we put off even planning anything for almost 8 months just because it stressed us out too much just thinking about it. We ended up planning our wedding just weeks before our day. So let it be something enjoyable for both of you, don’t worry about everyone else, and let your fiancé do all the work.
