People say that a picture is worth a thousand words but for Audrey a picture is worth a love story. Audrey’s friend, Trisha, was dating Chris, who was stationed in Germany, when Trisha showed Audrey a picture of Chris’ friends and Audrey instantly pointed at Jon and said, “WHO IS THAT GUY?” That led to Audrey and Jon stealing the phone away from Trisha and Chris to have their own conversation. Once Jon moved to North Carolina, Audrey flew out so that they could meet and Audrey left knowing that Jon was the man that she would spend her forever with. They dated long distance for their entire relationship but during that time they learned how to communicate, love an adventure and appreciate the time they did have together.
After about two years, Audrey and Jon were headed to Pensacola to celebrate Audrey’s sister’s graduation. Audrey’s family told Jon and her to take some time for themselves and so they headed to the beach. Jon rented a boat for him and Audrey but because of high waves it got cancelled… Jon was CRUSHED and Audrey had no idea why, (she was thinking, “it’s just a boat?”). So instead they walked the beach and decided to go up on a ferris wheel (Jon happened to be scouting) and from the top they spotted a secluded pier and decided to go hang out on it. Jon is always very sweet, but he was being extra emotional and Audrey had no idea what was going on. Audrey gave him a hug and could feel his heart going 700mph. Jon then got on one knee and the rest is a blur to Audrey. The first words out of Audrey’s mouth were “Omg really? We are going to have so much fun!” That was quickly followed by a “YES.” After a margarita to calm Audrey down, they met up with Audrey’s family to share the good news. Jon knew it would mean everything to be able to tell them in person, and Audrey said that she will never be able to repay him for that.
Shannyn: How did you settle on the Robinson Mansion?
Audrey: I looked at a TON of venues. I knew I wanted everything to be at the same place; I wanted a very elegant vibe and and the option to do a tent reception. The Robinson Mansion was amazing because it is pretty much your vacation rental for the weekend. We were able to provide the Mansion’s awesome accommodations for all of our bridal party and it felt like a big party all weekend because everyone was all together. It was my dream venue and I feel so lucky I found it.
Audrey and Jon loved getting ready in an early 1900’s Victorian mansion and being surround by their family and friends. Jon’s dad, whose a military chaplain, performed the wedding ceremony, which was a special touch to a special day. Audrey’s parents wrote a letter to Jon and Jon’s parents wrote a letter to Audrey, which they all kept a secret, until the wedding ceremony where one of Audrey’s friends read them aloud. Another special touch to their wedding included having the lace from Audrey’s mother’s wedding dress sewn around the waist of her’s, which gave her something borrowed and something old. A few of Audrey and Jon’s most amazing moments included Audrey reading Jon’s letter, seeing each other for the first time as Audrey walked down the aisle, their first dance, and seeing everyone close to them dance the night away.
Audrey and Jon flew to Costa Rica for their honeymoon where they lounged on the beach, went horseback riding and zip lining in the rainforest, and indulged in a volcano mud bath.
S: How was working with Adam?
A: I found Adam through Wedding Wire and after I watched one of the videos he had done and I knew I had to hire him! Working with Adam was fantastic. He went above and beyond to capture little moments during the day, without ever being intrusive or in the way. He was so friendly and easygoing, and just all around wonderful. I would highly recommended Adam to anyone. The day goes so fast; I’m so happy that we will have a video to remember it all!
