Abby + TJ | Berthoud, Colorado Wedding Videographer

Witnessing Abby and TJ’s marriage and celebration was a complete delight. As a Colorado wedding videographer, we see many unique weddings. But Abby and TJ made sure so many details of their wedding connected to their journey that it was easy to get caught up in the beauty of it all!

Where It All Began

Abby and TJ met in Colorado Springs where TJ was a cadet at the Air Force Academy. Abby was working in the Air Force dining hall for the summer. It only took a few times of hanging out before they decided to make their relationship official. However, since Abby was still in college at Colorado State University, their relationship quickly became a long distance one.

After dating for a year and a half, TJ planned to pop the question while his family at a getaway in Huntington Beach. It almost didn’t happen though when their flight got canceled due to poor weather. Thankfully, they were able to fly standby and TJ proposed on the beach, as planned. He had even arranged a surprise dinner afterward with both sets of parents and other family members. Abby’s family had secretly flown out from Colorado as well!

Beautiful Berthoud, Colorado Wedding

The wedding itself happened another year and a half later. Abby and TJ decided to wed in Colorado since it was the base of their relationship. They chose the beautiful Brookside Gardens in Berthoud for their venue. As a Colorado wedding videographer, we love this gorgeous location. We were able to capture so many incredible moments on camera.

Because this was a military wedding, there were many touches nodding to TJ’s service. Some examples were the groom and groomsmen wore their military uniforms. They also used the phonetic alphabet for table numbers. TJ and Abby included Abby’s family by having her brother Ben officiate. Her other brother Will did a reading as well. Abby’s brothers made the ceremony personal and sweet.

One of their favorites moments of the wedding (and ours too!) was their first look. TJ and Abby knew they wanted their wedding party to witness those initial moments since each of these people was an essential part of their story.

Another truly unique moment of the wedding was their final dance. While the guests were lining up outside to send the newlyweds off, TJ and Abby shared a last dance to City and Colour’s song, “The Girl.” It was the perfect moment to soak in everything that just happened and pause before the adventure to come.

We wish you the best, TJ and Abby, as you embark on the journey of marriage and being a military couple. Thank you for your service!

What Was It Like to Work With Adam as Your Colorado Wedding Videographer?

When asked what it was like to work with Adam and Aflatis, Abby said, “I had been looking for a wedding videographer based in Colorado and somehow found him through searching. After watching the first couple seconds of one of his videos, I was hooked. The unique way he shoots and puts a couple’s story together is what drew me to him, since mine and TJ’s relationship has been far from ‘normal’. I would totally recommend Adam to other couples, he makes himself part of the group and got along with everyone seamlessly, it was like he was part of the family!”
