As a Colorado-based wedding film team, getting to travel to the wide open spaces of Big Sky, Montana is right up our alley. So when Kaley and Ryan asked us to film their loved story and capture their Montana wedding video, we jumped at the opportunity.
Love That Grew Over Time
Kaley and Ryan first met the summer Kaley graduated high school at a friend’s party. They were attracted to each other but nothing came of it since they were headed separate ways for college.
Four years later, in 2012, Kaley and Ryan reconnected at a bar in Wyoming. They kept making eye contact across the room and Kaley knew exactly who Ryan was but was too shy to make a move. Ryan was pretty sure the girl across the bar was Kaley and had a friend go up to Kaley to get confirmation. They spent the rest of the night with their combined groups and it was the day that started their forever.
Kaley and Ryan spent the next four years in a long distance relationship while Kaley finished nursing school. Once she graduated she moved to Billings, Montana to be closer to Ryan and then things started to pick up.
In May 2016, Kaley and Ryan were on vacation in Dana Point, California with Kaley’s family. It was their last day there and Ryan invited Kaley to go for a sunset walk on the beach. Ryan got down on one knee and asked Kaley to marry him. Without hesitation, she answered with a yes. They kept the happy news to themselves for the night as they celebrated with dinner and soaked in the moment just the two of them.
Mountain Wedding Bliss
Kaley and Ryan exchanged their vows in front of family and friends. The incredible mountain elegance of Montana was their backdrop. The entire day was a celebration with everyone close to Kaley and Ryan—around 400 people to be exact! However, the intimate moments of the extravagant day were not lost. The quiet moments of their first look were some of their favorite. It gave them time alone before the excitement of the day took over.
Kaley loved walking down the aisle and seeing Ryan tear up. For a guy who doesn’t show his emotions too often, it was a memorable moment for Kaley to treasure. One of their most special moments was being able to thank their guests and vendors for making their day so special.
For their honeymoon, Kaley and Ryan decided to mix it up. Instead of jetting off to an island or exploring unknown parts of the world, they opted for one of their favorite things—driving together. They planned a 12 day, nine state, 4,400-mile road trip.
The newlyweds started by exploring in their backyard of Montana. Then they traveled down the Pacific Coast to Washington, Oregon, and California. They even stopped in Arizona before circling back home. Each day brought adventure as they settled on where to sightsee, things to do, and where to stay.
What Was It Like to Have Adam Create Your Montana Wedding Video?
When asked what it was like working with Adam, Kaley said, “When Ryan and I first got engaged, I was the bride who dove right in and started planning immediately. I knew the two most important aspects of the wedding to me were photos and a videographer. I came across one of Adam’s videos online and immediately fell in love with his work.
Adam’s attention to detail is unlike any other videographer I have ever seen. I remember Adam called me about a month before the wedding. He asked if we would be up for a session a few nights before the wedding, just to make it extra special and get some shots that we would most likely not be able to get the day of the wedding.
Adam does not just film weddings for a career. He is pursuing a true passion to create a piece of art that people can cherish for years to come. Adam and his crew were amazing with our family and friends. That is one of the compliments many people gave—how nice and talented they were and how everyone was so excited to see the final video. Everyone who watches our video ends it in tears. We would absolutely recommend Adam and his team to any brides and grooms who are looking for a videographer for their special day!”
