For Megan and Dan, meeting was like something you would see in a movie. And since we love storytelling at Aflātis, we were excited to continue the cinematic quality of their relationship with their Breckenridge wedding film.

From the Other Side of the Pond

You see, Megan and Dan met while they were in college at Kent State University in Ohio. Megan was there as a foreign exchange student from the U.K. But little did she know she would get so much more than a college education at Kent State. She found the love of her life. Dan was there getting his Masters when the two met.

Since Megan was from abroad, much of their two years of dating was long distance. But after a while, Megan and Dan agreed to leave their jobs so they could travel together for three months. Dan surprised Megan by proposing to her at the beginning of the trip. She had a feeling a proposal might be coming, but she was expecting Dan to pop the question at the end of their travels. So, they spent the trip enjoying the world together and also dreaming up their wedding and future life.

Winter Wedding in the Rocky Mountains

When the big day arrived, and we shot Megan and Dan’s Breckenridge wedding film, there were so many unique aspects of their wedding. They exchanged vows and celebrated with their friends and family at The Lodge at Breckenridge. But unlike some of the couples we shoot, this was the first time Megan and Dan’s family and friends had the chance to meet since much of Megan’s crew came from the U.K.

Another part of their wedding that was unique was that they walked with each other down the aisle. Megan and Dan explained it just felt like the right choice since they are a team. Their most memorable moments of the wedding included the challenging time they had cutting the cake and playing in the snow during their photo and video shoot!

While they have a honeymoon to South America scheduled for next year, they are excited to begin finally building a life together in the same country! We wish you the best, Megan and Dan!
