We love getting to create a Colorado wedding film for our local couples. There are so many wonderful venues in Colorado and we’ve had the chance to meet many amazing couples. When Keilani and Jesse reached out about filming their wedding at Brookside Gardens in Berthoud, we were excited to have to opportunity to be a part of it!
Young Love
Keilani and Jesse met when they were just 17 and 19. A mutual friend introduced them and Keilani was hesitant about getting together at first. But Jesse was persistent and eventually Keilani agreed that Jesse could come to her home to hang out. Like young people do, they just wandered around some local shops and talked about life. But Jesse won Keilani’s heart when he snuggled with her dog who was just getting done with a rough appointment at the vet.
The two dated for several years and around Keilani’s 21stbirthday, Jesse got ready to propose. They went on a trip to New Orleans to celebrate Keilani’s birthday with Keilani’s family and friends. When they were outside the stunning St. Louis Cathedral, Jesse handed his GoPro off to Keilani’s dad to take a picture. But instead of simply posing in front of the cathedral, Jesse shared a beautiful speech, got down on one knee, and asked Keilani to marry him! Of course, she said “yes” and they celebrated with a Mardi Gras themed engagement party!
Colorado Wedding Film at Brookside Gardens
When it came time to tie the knot, Keilani and Jesse wed at Saint John XXIII Catholic Church and celebrated with a reception at Brookside Gardens. There were so many ways the wedding was personalized, like table numbers featuring custom paintings of their dogs and a custom painting that guests signed in lieu of a traditional guestbook.
Keilani and Jesse took dance lessons for several months before the wedding, along with their parents, so when it came time for the first dances, they blew everyone away. For both of them, and probably for everyone attending, the dances were some of the most memorable moments of the night. They spent the rest of the night on the dance floor, and many people told them they’d never seen them so happy!
What’s Next
Keilani and Jesse planned to honeymoon to Italy in March 2020, which unfortunately had to be canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. So the couple looks forward to celebrating with a trip after it’s safe to do so. They’re also excited to continue growing closer together, develop in their careers, and eventually as a family!
