Denver City Park Wedding Video | Stephanie + Pete

Intimate weddings were a big thing in 2020—if they were happening at all. But Stephanie and Pete had an intimate wedding not only because of COVID, but because it was just what they wanted! And the results couldn’t have been better! We had so much fun creating their beautiful Denver City Park wedding video, and we wanted to share more of their story here on the blog!

OkCupid for the Win!

Stephanie and Pete met in the online dating world—OkCupid to be exact! They started chatting about travel right before Pete was heading out of town to film a documentary about bitcoin. Their chatting turned to dating and they dated for 6 years.

When it came time to propose, Pete knew he wanted to incorporate one of their favorite places—his parent’s cabin in Grand Lake, Colorado. While driving up to the cabin, Pete stopped for a rendezvous on Berthoud Pass to hike to the summit. Stephanie was suspicious because they’d done this drive many times and never stopped to do the hike. And Pete was so nervous, he claims he mumbled out just a few well-intentioned words. But thankfully, Stephanie didn’t need an eloquent speech. She just knew she would say yes! The rest of the weekend was spent surprising their families with the great news!

At Aflatis, we get to film a lot of mountain weddings, so a city wedding is always a fun treat! And this was certainly true of Stephanie and Pete’s City Park wedding. The ceremony overlooked and serene lake. And the outdoor setup allowed for them to have the Cocktail Caravan come and serve drinks.

Another fun feature of this city wedding was getting to take pictures in several great locations around Denver, like the formal Cooper Lounge, and later on getting the cityscape around them. And something especially sweet and unique was that the couple had floral crowns and boutonnieres made for each of their guests. Plus, Stephanie + Pete wrote their own vows and involved several family members and friends in the ceremony, making it a very personal affair. Pete shared,

“We crafted the day to be just what we wanted, and it showed.”

From the flower bar that Stephanie crafted to the approved list of cocktails from the Cocktail Caravan, every detail had a personal touch.

Isla Mujeres Honeymoon and Onto the Future

Due to the finicky nature of travel during COVID, Stephanie and Pete waited until the last minute to plan their honeymoon, and picked Isla Mujeres, just off of Cancun. They spent their fair share of time relaxing at the beach and also got to go on a scuba diving excursion and explore the island on a golf cart.

Stephanie and Pete look forward to continuing to do the things they love to do like travel and one day becoming parents! Thank you so much for including Aflatis in your big day! We wish you the best!
