Julie and Byron’s story started being written when they met at a class they both attended for their careers. Julie made an entrance by being a little late and Byron couldn’t stop fidgeting with his chair to catch a glimpse of Julie. With some encouragement from her coworkers, Julie did some internet investigating, found out a little about Byron and sent him an email. Byron got the email right away but decided to delay his response until after Thanksgiving. After the holiday passed, Byron called Julie and accepted her invitation to lunch. Lunch was followed by another lunch, a birthday dinner and drinks, ice skating and the rest is history.

Julie and Byron’s engagement came in September 2013 when they were visiting Julie’s family cottage in Ontario. It was their last day there and Niagara Falls was on their agenda for the day. They went to a restaurant that had amazing views and went to the Maid of the Mist. Byron came up behind Julie and gave her a hug and began to tell her how amazing they are…Julie interrupted Byron by saying she knows they are amazing…Byron continued saying that they were going to be amazing forever and asked Julie to marry him. Byron pulled out a blue box, that matched their ponchos perfectly, as the boat was almost directly under the falls. Julie responded with an “ABSOLUTELY” and then a “yes,” incase she wasn’t clear.

The couple decided to get married in Telluride, Colorado during the heart of winter and received 24 inches of snow before the wedding. Telluride holds a special place in their hearts as a couple since this was the place they first traveled to as a couple. The location and snow add a challenge for their guest getting to the site at Mountain Village. One of their favorite things from their wedding day was the surprise that Julie planned once the vows were exchanged. Musicians came out and serenaded them with “For the Longest Time” by Billy Joel. Everyone loved the surprise! An unexpected surprise was when they slipped off to a bar after the ceremony for a moment and a lady from the yoga classes they attended that morning recognized them and everyone in the bar applauded and toasted them.

Julie and Byron traveled to Costa Rica for their honeymoon so they could enjoy the outdoors, hike and see the monkeys. They wanted to travel to a place that they had never been to before and they got to practice their Spanish which they had been learning since their original trip to Telluride. Their adventure in Costa Rica included volcanos, snorkeling, and hiking in rainforest jungles.

Shannyn: How was working with Adam?

Julie: We found Adam through Wedding Wire and fell in love with his work. I would absolutely recommend him to other brides; he is so talented. In reviewing other work prior to meeting him, no one else’s even compared. If tears could be brought to your eye from a perfect stranger’s video, I couldn’t even imagine how magical ours would be. After meeting Adam, we really appreciated his calm nature, his excitement for us and some of the different things we wanted to do. He clearly enjoys what he does and is wonderful to work with.
