Kelly was home from her first year in college and was working back at Mi Casa in Breckenridge, Colorado. There were familiar faces there but a new face stuck out to her. Corey was a new bartender at the restaurant and the two became fast friends and casually dated, a summer that consisted of hiking and concerts. When Kelly went back to school, her and Corey stayed in-touch and eventually became inseparable whenever Kelly was home on breaks. After a few moves around the mountains of Colorado, the two settled in Boulder. But their adventures were not over yet.
After five years of dating, Kelly and Corey went to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic to celebrate and saw their favorite band, Widespread Panic, perform for four nights. Within 10 minutes of getting settled into their hotel room, Corey was down on one knee proposing. Kelly of course said yes! They spent the remainder of their trip gong to concerts and hanging out on the beach. A proposal was the perfect way to start off their trip!
Kelly and Corey’s day was surrounded by family, friends, and a little suspense. Their venue, Planet Bluegrass, was devastated by the floods that hit Northern Colorado in the fall of 2013 and left Kelly and Corey wondering if they would have a wedding site. The the amazing hard work of the people at Planet Bluegrass came together for Kelly and Corey’s magical day. Their wedding was the first big event at Planet Bluegrass since the flooding. The day was marked by the beautiful setting of Planet Bluegrass, yard games, a make-your-own trail mix bar, music from their best friends, and having their dog, Charlie, be a part of the wedding. They also loved taking some time to relax and play in the river…in their wedding attire and Kelly walking down the aisle with her parents to one of her favorite songs.
Once the celebrations came to an end, Kelly and Corey headed for Puerto Rico. They wanted to see as much of the island as possible and they did just that. Kelly and Corey saw the rainforest, hung out at the beach, drank coconut mojitos everyday, went paddle boarding, rode horses on the beach, ate delicious food, took in the the beauty of Old San Juan, and watched countless sunsets.
Shannyn: How was working with Adam?
Kelly: I would absolutely recommend Adam to other brides, he was so great. Very professional, so discrete, and very easy to be around and talk to. I completely trusted that he would capture our day in the best way possible and am confident that he did so. So personable, he made us feel special about our day, sharing in our excitement.
