Morgan and Ben attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, her for her undergrad and him for law school. After graduating, Morgan and Ben moved, separately, to Grand Island where they were both working and thankfully met one another. Morgan may have caught Ben’s eye as he saw her coming in and out of the building he lived in but a formal introduction didn’t occur until a mutual friend introduced them.
It was June 20, 2014 when Morgan and Ben had a “change of plans,” and Morgan couldn’t think of a better place to spend the weekend than at Soaring Wings Vineyard in Springfield, Nebraska. Ben had been secretly planning to propose to Morgan at the Vineyard and was waiting for her to suggest going there. To keep Morgan’s suspicions at bay, Ben got “lost” on the way to the Soaring Wings, complained about the weather and pointed out the odd photographer at the event. Ben, the master of secrets, had previously met with the “odd” photographer to scope out the perfect proposal site at the vineyard and after sipping on some wine, eating dinner and listening to music, Morgan and Ben set out on a walk through the rows of vines. As they went up and down the rows one row stood out and will always be special…the row that Ben got down on one knee and proposed.
Growing up in Colorado, Morgan always dreamed about getting married at Trinity United Methodist Church with a reception across the street at The Brown Palace. Ben and Morgan kept their options open while looking at venues but nothing could beat the dream venues that Morgan had in mind.
The formal and elegant affair was not short of fun, love and joy as Morgan and Ben celebrated with family and friends. Ben challenged his sister to a rap battle before entering the reception and the bridal party and guests showed off their best moves on the dance floor. Morgan and Ben’s favorite part of the day was their first dance. They felt like the only two and in the room and it was the perfect way for them to kick off their reception.
Morgan and Ben spent a week in Charleston, South Carolina relaxing and exploring the history and charm that the Southern city had to offer.
As Morgan and Ben begin this new journey together as husband and wife they are looking forward to buying their first home, starting a family and enjoying all that life has to offer them.
