Nanci was not one for blind dates, but the last blind date she would go on would be one that would change her life. Nanci and Curtis were set up on a blind date by Curtis’sister, who was also Nanci’s co-worker. It took some convincing but Nanci decided to go on the blind date and on March 20, 2007 Nanci and Curtis went on their first date at Buffalo Wild Wings…the rest is history.
After five years of dating, Curtis took Nanci out to celebrate, what she thought was a normal birthday dinner. They went to their place, The Melting Pot, for a special birthday dinner for Nanci. The corner table was covered in rose petals and Nanci thought that Curtis went all out…little did she know what was yet to come. Curtis excused himself to go to the “restroom”but actually went to give the ring to his friend, Drew, who worked at The Melting Pot. As the meal came to an end, Drew appeared with dessert in hand. With a closer look at the plate, Nanci was staring at an engagement ring on a plate of roses. She of course said yes! Family and friends were waiting at the restaurant next door anxiously waiting for a phone call and to celebrate. When Nanci and Curtis arrived next door they were greeted by their loved ones and champagne.
Nanci and Curtis said, “I do”on May 10, 2014 at The Cathedral Basilica, where Nanci always dreamt she would get married, in Denver, Colorado. Before the ceremony, Nanci was getting so nervous that she could hardly breathe but the moment she saw Curtis the nerves disappeared and Curtis was all that she saw in the Church. He was actually one of the few things that Nanci could see since she lost her contact on the way to the Church; she couldn’t read anything, including her vows which forced her to improv, and she could only see blobs of people.
From the Church, guests joined them at the Cielo at Castle Pines for a night that shined… literally. Nanci and Curtis’wedding screamed sparkle since he calls her his “Glitterbug”and since they are known as the “sparkle couple.”They loved the candy table, s’mores bar, and the little touches that said “Nanci and Curtis,”like having different love quotes at each table that meant something personal to Nanci and Curtis. One of their favorite moments was their first dance, when they were able to focus on one another, talk and laugh.
Shannyn: How was working with Adam and would you recommend him to other couples?
Nanci: My wedding planner found Adam and we set up a meeting downtown and ended up going to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants! Anyways, once we sat down and started talking, I knew that I wanted Adam to be our videographer! His vibe was awesome, he seemed like a very fun and positive person, and I love surrounding myself with positive people! Especially on my wedding day! I just clicked with Adam right off the bat and felt so comfortable around him! I would definitely recommend Adam to other brides! He is just an all-around good guy and he is so talented. With every wedding video that I watched of his, I could feel the love between the bride and groom and I knew that he would do an amazing job!!
We had the privilege of working with Amanda from Kokoro Photography. Here are a few of the images she was able to capture on Nanci + Curtis Wedding day:
