Emily and Tyler are two spontaneous, fun lovebirds out of Denver. So when they asked us to film their Steamboat Springs wedding film, we were so excited to be a part of it. From the story to how they met to the incredibly fun reception, this couple was a blast! We were so thankful to get to put together their story in film form.
A Hammerschlagen Meeting
If you’re like us, you might not know what “hammerschlagen” is, but let us fill you in as we tell the story of how Emily and Tyler met. Back in 2105, Tyler was headed to his favorite bar to watch the Women’s World Cup game. Emily headed to the same bar because she heard they had the game hammerschlagen there.
It was playing this lively drinking game hitting nails into a log where Tyler and Emily met. They spent the rest of the night talking at the bar and then grabbed a late-night slice of pizza. Emily gave Tyler her phone number and the rest was history!
Organic Proposal
A few years later, as Tyler prepared a proposal, he thought about a million different scenarios. But ultimately, Tyler wanted the moment to come up organically. So, one evening when they planned to have dinner at the restaurant where they had their first date, Tyler stuck the ring in his pocket.
It was a rainy evening. So, after dinner, Tyler and Emily decided to walk to Union Station. As they were walking, Tyler noticed a park where they would have some privacy. Tyler convinced Emily he knew a shortcut and headed to the park. As they entered, Tyler spun Emily into a picnic shelter, got down on one knee, and popped the question.
Steamboat Springs Wedding
Emily and Tyler tied the knot on September 2, 2018, over Labor Day Weekend in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. They had 250 friends and family members attend, so they made sure there were lots of opportunities to spend time with all of them throughout the weekend.
Some of the most treasured moments were the first moment they saw each other, exchanging vows, and their first dance to “It’s a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. We were so thankful to be a part of your day, Emily and Tyler! We wish you the best!

He was wonderful to work with, very charismatic, and he worked very well with our other vendors and friends .”
