Matt wouldn’t take no for an answer. After crushing on Stephanie since their freshman year in high school, he finally decided to make his move their senior year but she had no interest in Matt. He persistently pursued her and she persistently turned him down. On a rainy afternoon, Matt carried Stephanie’s books to her car and that is what won her over. The rest is history.
It was Stephanie’s birthday and Matt planned for a hot air balloon ride proposal overlooking the landscape of Florida. But a cramped basket full of people left Matt thinking of a plan B. On the way home, Matt wanted to go to a park and take a walk and all Stephanie wanted to do was go home and take a nap. But Matt’s persistence came in handy once again and they found themselves a private dock. The private moment of the two of them came with Matt proposing to Stephanie and her crying. She was so caught off guard by the moment and tears that she forgot to say yes and to look at the ring that Matt had chosen for her. After a few moments, Stephanie said yes and was in love with the ring that Matt picked out for her.
Stephanie and Matt grew up in Florida and knew that they wanted a mountainous wedding that would give their guests a great experience. Originally, they were thinking about eloping in Colorado but after deep consideration they knew that they wanted their family by their sides. They wanted to have a small, intimate wedding and that’s just what they got by getting married in Colorado. Their original idea of eloping became more of a reality than they thought and their wedding day surround by close friends and family was the wedding of their dreams.
Guests were greeted by the Colorado mountains in Granby and rode a ski lift to the top of the mountain where Stephanie and Matt would say “I do.”The rustic beauty of the mountains were matched with feminine touches of blush colors and white lights that gave way to a romantic feeling. One of Stephanie’s favorite aspects of the wedding was the ceremony arch that Matt built out of birch tree poles with the flower arrangements of Pink Posey Design. Stephanie and Matt’s absolute favorite part of the day was their first look. They were able to see each other before the ceremony and soak in everything around them. They also loved having their dogs be a part of their big day.
Stephanie and Matt took the opportunity to honeymoon in Colorado, since they had just recently moved there, and see all that Colorado has to offer. They spent time hiking, horseback riding, going to the Hot Springs, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the Denver Aquarium, and even went white water rafting in Clear Creek.
Shannyn: How was working with Adam?
Stephanie: Adam was AWESOME; We couldn’t have chosen a better vendor for videography! He’s so personable and takes the time to really build a relationship with his couples. He worked very well throughout the wedding day, especially with other vendors like our photographer. Would definitely recommend him to other couples!
I had the privilege of working with Elizabeth from Elizabeth Ann Photography. Here are a few of Stephanie and Matthew’s favorite pictures that Elizabeth captured from their special day:
