Vail Wedding Video | Jessica + George

Jessica and George couldn’t be a more fun or happy couple! So filming their Vail wedding video was a treat. We watched them wed at Beano’s Cabin in Beaver Creek, but the celebrations lasted the entire weekend. However, this wedding day was ten years in the making. Here is how George and Jessica met and fell in love.

High School Sweethearts

Jessica and George met in the halls of Fenwick High School in the city of Chicago. George first saw Jessica in the school’s gym, but they didn’t officially meet each other until a year later. They shared chemistry class, became friends, and even went to homecoming together.

Their friendship lasted through high school. But after graduation, Jessica asked George if he wanted to meet up to play tennis. The chemistry they had in class was even greater post-graduation. Come that fall, Jessica headed to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt and George moved to New Orleans to attend Tulane. It took all of six weeks for them to realize that they missed each other and that they wanted to see where their relationship could go.

After four years of long distance dating, Jessica and George had another moment when their paths split—one to Washington D.C. and the other back to Chicago. It seemed they were fighting against the odds. But they didn’t give up, and fate led Jessica back to Chicago for a new job. George was there to welcome her with open arms.

Reunited back in their hometown and on the same life path, George decided to make things permanent. He got down on one knee in front of Chicago’s historic Water Tower and asked Jessica to be “his forever.” She said, “YES,” and they celebrated the night away with friends and family.

Destination Wedding in Colorful Colorado

When it came to picking the wedding location, Jessica knew it had to take place at her home away from home—her family’s mountain house in Colorado. Upon arriving in Colorado, guests were greeted with customized welcome bags and a welcome reception. Jessica and George even gave their wedding party a special thank you with an adventure of a lifetime—ziplining through the mountains of Vail Valley.

Jessica and George exchanged vows at 9,500 feet in the beautiful mountains of Beaver Creek, Colorado. Family and friends from 14 different states made up the crowd of supporters. The ceremony featured a surprise guest, a hummingbird. To the awe of everyone there, it flew right in front of Jessica and George and paused just long enough for the photographer to snap a few photos. Everyone believed that the hummingbird was a sign of the late grandparents who were not able to take part in the special day. Another unique aspect of the wedding was the live painter during the ceremony. George arranged the painter as a gift for Jessica.

After the ceremony guests partook in a strawberry and champagne cocktail hour, a nod to Jessica’s alma mater—Vanderbilt. Then guests and the wedding party enjoyed custom gourmet meals served from the kitchen of Beano’s. The delicious food continued with a fantastic lemon poppy seed wedding cake and the groom’s cake that resembled ancient Greek coins—a passion of George’s.

Post-Wedding Bliss

Before Jessica and George left for their honeymoon, they shared one last meal with everyone who came to celebrate their union with a farewell brunch.

After the wedding fun was over, Jessica and George jetted off for Thailand on their honeymoon. They explored the big city of Bangkok, the mountains of Chiang Mai, and relaxed on the beaches of Koi Samui. Jessica and George completely immersed themselves in the Thai culture as they took part in Thai cooking classes, Thai massages, and explored Buddhist temples.

What Was It Like Having Aflatis Films Create Your Vail Wedding Video?

When asked what it was like working with Adam, Jessica said, ” I found Adam on Instagram and from our first call, when we connected over being from Chicago. The vibe I got from him was relaxed but professional and I knew I wanted Adam to film our wedding. (I obviously also fell in love with his beautiful, timeless films he had posted on his website too!) We booked him over a year before our wedding!

Fast forward to June 2017—the best was when Adam went ziplining (a surprise to our wedding party) with us the day before the wedding. He didn’t skip a beat! He just hopped right in the group, zipped down that line upside-down, and almost got his drone taken out by a hawk. Adam is fun, positive, and has some really creative ideas that morph into great shots.

The wedding day went by so fast (as he warned it would!) but as quickly as it went by, Adam remained professional, went with the flow, and was beyond compassionate. We were blessed to have Adam a part of our amazing team that made our day truly the most spectacular day of our lives.”
