In a year of COVID weddings, every wedding that was able to occur felt like a major blessing. And that’s certainly how Alexandra + Joel felt about their big day, and why we were so excited to film their Nashville wedding video last November. Now that we’re ready to reveal the final film, we wanted to share it with you all along with their love story.
Chance Meeting and Epic Engagement
Alex and Joel met at a soccer game where they lived in Nashville, Tennessee. They were introduced by some mutual friends and by the end of the game, Joel asked Alex for her phone number. The two quickly fell in love and knew they wanted to be together forever.
To propose, Joel planned an elaborate scavenger hunt with 11 destinations that were all significant in their dating relationship. At the end of the scavenger hunt, Joel got down on one knee and asked Alex to be his wife.
Joel also planned this whole scavenger hunt and proposal on Alex’s birthday, so they went back to Alex’s parents house where they had already planned to have a drive-through birthday party for Alex (due to COVID). It was the perfect way for them to be able to share their engagement with so many loved ones in person!
Nashville Wedding Video at a Beautiful Barn
Alex and Joel were very thankful to be able to have a “real” wedding, despite COVID. They didn’t know how many of their family and friends would be able to attend, but when it came down to it, they got to celebrate with so many people they loved at the beautiful Fiddle Dee Farms in Nashville.
The day was full of special moments, including Joel spending lots of quality time with his groomsmen before the wedding, their prayer and worship time during the ceremony, and Alex and her dad surprising everyone with an awesome, choreographed dance during their father/daughter dance.
Phoenix Honeymoon and the Married Life
The newlyweds headed to Phoenix for their honeymoon and spent a week exploring the Grand Canyon, Sedona, taking a spa day, and eating lots of great food! They mostly had a great time just soaking in every moment of being married. They’re looking forward to being husband and wife, and seeing what God has in store for them!
