Megan and Patrick’s love story spans multiple state lines. The pair met in Texas but were married in the beautiful state of Colorado. We had the privilege of capturing their great love on film and creating their Colorado mountain wedding video.
A Texas-Sized Love Story
Megan and Patrick first met at a bar in Fort Worth, TX, in 2013. Megan was a senior at TCU, and Patrick was visiting Fort Worth for a hunting trip, having just graduated from UT. They exchanged information but never expected to cross paths again. Now and again, Megan would spot Patrick on social media, but they wouldn’t meet again until 2016. They ran into each other by chance at a bar in Dallas, and Patrick asked Megan on a date. It was meant to be!
Megan and Patrick dated for about three years before deciding to take the next step. In June 2020, the couple traveled to Crested Butte with Patrick’s family for a week-long trip. On the first day, Patrick invited Megan on a hike. When they reached the top of the mountain, Patrick proposed. The proposal wasn’t the only surprise he had in store. Patrick’s family and Megan’s family were all waiting at the bottom of the hike. They had set up a cute picnic to celebrate and even hired a photographer to capture the whole moment. “It was a dream,” Megan recalled.

Megan + Patrick planned a wedding that would encompass the beauty and simplicity of the mountains while paying homage to their Texas roots. The mountain-top wedding in Vail, CO was stunning; the ski slopes were covered in summer wildflowers and sunshine.
Megan’s favorite moment was seeing Patrick’s emotional reaction during their first look. Patrick’s was when the couple walked out of the ceremony after being announced as Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Walter for the first time. They both agree their last dance and sendoff was another favorite moment. “Walking out and seeing everyone smiling and wooing was incredible,” Megan remembers. It was the perfect juxtaposition of a private moment together, and a moment they celebrated with all of their guests.
Looking Forward
Megan and Patrick’s love of Champagne is well-known. Their wedding reception even featured a Champagne tower! Fittingly, the newlyweds headed off to the Champagne region of France to kick off their honeymoon. After learning (and tasting!) all they could about their favorite beverage, Megan and Patrick spent some time in Paris. They even cruised along the southern coast in a rented convertible.
When we asked them about their experience working with Aflātis, they shared,
“Our wedding planner found Adam the week of our wedding. He was absolutely amazing. Wonderful to work with; he created an incredible film and was able to work with us last minute.”
