Colorado Wedding Video | Stephanie + Eric

As creators of this Colorado wedding video and weddings from all over the world, we treasure each wonderful couple we meet. Every couple has a beautifully unique story. But now and then, a couple has a story that really stands out. And we hope the video we created for Stephanie + Eric shows what a remarkable couple and family they are!

Like many people, Stephanie and Eric met on the job. But their meeting was NOT like most. It involved a very expensive, stolen mountain bike wheel, and an amateur Craigslist sting operation.

When their stories intersected, Eric was as a Patrol Deputy for Summit County. Stephanie had just begun her job as a police officer for the Breckenridge Police Department. On August 27, 2013, Stephanie and Eric were both asked to help out with a case of a man who’d stolen a mountain bike tire and was selling it on Craigslist. The owner of the tire could prove it was his. So the rightful owner arranged to check out the tire, pretending he wanted to buy it. Little did the thief know, the owner invited the police to join him.

Sure enough, the tire was stolen. And after meeting at the scene, Stephanie and Eric became great friends. But it wasn’t until a few years later when their friends set them up on a one-sided blind date (Stephanie knew it was Eric, but Eric wasn’t aware it was Stephanie) that they realized they had feelings for each other.

Surprise Birthday Party + Even Bigger Surprise Engagement

After dating for a few years, Eric began scheming the proposal. He arranged for some of their friends and family to meet them at one of their favorite restaurants in Frisco to celebrate Stephanie’s birthday.

Stephanie knew they were meeting her immediate family. What she didn’t realize was that 30 friends and family members would pop out and yell, “SURPRISE!” when she arrived. And what shocked her even more was that when she turned around, Eric was standing there ready to ask Stephanie to be his wife!

All Things Aligned

Stephanie and Eric wed at the always stunning Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado. When Stephanie and Eric met, Eric’s badge number was 38. So, when they picked the wedding date of 7/12/19 and realized the digits added up to 38, they knew the stars were aligned. They even had a custom brand made with the number 38 and Stephanie’s number 30 inside a badge shape. They burned the brand onto a piece of wood as a unity ceremony at the wedding.

The brand was just one of the unique features of their wedding. Perhaps one of the most precious parts was that Eric’s sons were his best men. Tristan, age 4, literally ate his boutonniere! And with every picture, Tristan declared, “We’re marrrieeeeeeeed!” Also, Ashton, age 8, gave a heart-warming best man speech and killed it on the dance floor all night long.

Another moment they won’t soon forget was when Steph surprised the guests by cutting the cake with the knife that she’d strapped to her calf! And it was extremely special that Steph’s grandmother was able to make it to the wedding, especially considering she passed away just a few months later.
