Like the Cool Kids
In Shaila’s own words, Shaila met Ryan like all the cool kids do—on the Internet. After talking online, they decided to meet for drinks halfway between where they lived. And also, in Shaila’s own words, “the rest is history!”
They dated for a year, and then Ryan came up with an elaborate plan to propose. Ryan wanted to surprise Shaila with a trip from Seattle to Victoria by seaplane, which would have been a dream come true for her. But unfortunately, bad weather caused the pilot to cancel the flight.
Instead, Ryan and Shaila drove for eight hours and rode on two ferries to get to their destination. The next day, Ryan took Shaila on a walk on Beacon Hill. Shaila was focused on searching for orcas, which she didn’t find. What she did find was Ryan down on one knee, asking Shaila to be his bride.
A Denver Fusion Wedding Video to Remember
Not long after, Shaila and Ryan were married on May 17 and 18, 2019. They performed a traditional Sangeet on May 17 in honor of Shaila’s Indian heritage. The Sikh wedding celebration was at the Hyatt Regency DTC.
The following day, Shaila and Ryan celebrated a Christian wedding ceremony and reception at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Both were full of lots of dancings, laughter, beauty, and at the end of it all, Shaila and Ryan were officially Mr. + Mrs.
Observing traditions from both of their unique cultures was one of the most extraordinary things about their wedding. They also treasured their vows, first dance, getting ready with their family and friends, and dancing with everyone at their reception! Speeches that their friends and family shared, and their first look were several other touching moments they will always remember.
What’s Next?
Shaila and Ryan went on a mini-moon in the Bahamas to celebrate their marriage. But, they’re also looking forward to a bigger getaway to New Zealand soon. Aside from travel, Shaila and Ryan are looking forward to growing together as partners and supporting each other’s dreams. We’re so happy for you, Shaila and Ryan!
What Was it Like Working with Aflātis?
When asked about their experience with Adam and Aflātis, Shaila shared these kind words. “Working with Adam was seamless and natural where we were able to have our intimate moments, but still capture them on film. We would for sure recommend him to other couples!”
