Lyons, CO Wedding Video | Leah + Charlie

Leah and Charlie finally said “I do” this June after COVID delayed their plans for over a year. We were so excited to be a part of Leah + Charlie’s festivities and create their Lyons, CO wedding video!

If the Shoe Fitz

A mutual friend subtly pushed Leah and Charlie together during a busy time in both of their lives. Leah was finishing grad school and studying for the CPA exam. Charlie was working in a music studio as well as writing his own album. Amazingly, they found time for a new relationship. Leah and Charlie knew from the very beginning they had something special. They dated for four years before Charlie proposed.

Charlie knew Leah was expecting a proposal so he went out of his way to surprise her. Leah arrived home on a random Thursday night in January to find Charlie waiting for her in the snowy backyard. Charlie had covered the ground with candles and set up a camera to catch her reaction. As the snow fell around them, Charlie got down on one knee and popped the question.

A Modern Bohemian Wedding

After 2247 days together, Leah and Charlie were joined as man and wife. Leah and Charlie had one major goal for their wedding: to celebrate with their favorite people and throw a party where everyone could be unequivocally themselves. They spent months crafting a perfect ceremony to show off everything that makes the couple unique. They chose the perfect outdoor venue to acknowledge their love of nature and designed a modern bohemian wedding.

Leah and Charlie welded a one-of-a-kind hexagonal wedding arch modeled after Leah’s ring. They also turned their ’87 Volkswagen Vanagon into a photo booth. Leah and Charlie treated their guests to ice cream from a local vendor, forgoing the traditional wedding cake. The reception included memorable speeches and live music (with Charlie playing the saxophone)! The couple’s distinctive celebration will not soon be forgotten.

A New Chapter

The newlyweds plan to take a true honeymoon in a few months but spent an exciting week in Telluride, CO after the wedding. The couple fished, biked, hiked, and even climbed the famous Via Ferrata. Leah and Charlie are excited to begin a new chapter of their lives. They look forward to building their future together and hope the rest of their lives will be just as adventurous and fun as the last six years have been.

When we asked the couple what it was like working with Aflātis, they shared,

“I found Adam on Instagram and really liked his stuff, so choosing Aflātis as our videographer for our huge life event was easy. It was one of the first vendors we picked! Mike was actually the videographer on site for our wedding day and he was amazing! He was really fun to work with and a great guy, so he fit right into the festivities and the feel of the day.”
