Steamboat Springs Destination Wedding Video | Tasha + Michael

Fall in Steamboat is hard to beat. And with Tasha and Michael’s incredible love story, I knew their Steamboat Springs destination wedding video would be an honor to create. Looking back on the whole celebration, there were so many beautiful moments with their whole family—their daughters and all their loved ones. It was a Colorado destination wedding for these Texans, so it was also a fun aspect to be shooting in my home state, but have it be a destination for all the guests and the couple! But let’s go back to the beginning.

One Last Chance on Bumble

Tasha and Michael met online, using the Bumble app. Tasha was getting ready to delete her account, but God knew she needed one more peruse through the app to find Michael! They started chatting on the app. They were drawn to each other because they talked about God in their profiles—and their good looks, of course! After a week of chatting, Michael invited Tasha to join him for a Houston Dynamo soccer game. Like any good first date, it was filled with awkward high-fives, seamless conversation, and butterflies when they accidentally bumped into each other.

Since date one went so well, they continued to date for seven months before Michael knew he would propose. They’d planned a trip to New York City for Tasha’s birthday and Michael sneakily packed the ring. He also planned to have a local photographer capture the proposal.

While they enjoyed several outings, Michael was sweating through them all, hoping that everything would line up. Not only did he have to meet up with a photographer he’d never met, but also find her at a specific rock in Central Park. Plus, he had to get Tasha there without suspicion, all within the window of time he’d paid for!

But everything worked out perfectly. When Michael casually asked a “stranger,” Ash, to take their photo, and she offered to do it with her own camera, that was Michael’s cue to get down on one knee and propose. Of course, Tasha said yes, and the rest is history!

A Beautiful Steamboat Springs Destination Wedding Video

I film many wedding videos in Steamboat, but this one was extra special because for the couple and all their guests, this was a destination wedding! There were unique elements to their wedding. But one of their favorites was all the ways they incorporated their daughters in the day. Also, Tasha shared,

“Steamboat Springs is a happy place for us and we were thrilled to have peak gold in the aspen trees…Michael and I feel so close to God in the mountains and we loved having our ceremony outside with the wind whispering in the trees—it made everything feel so magical!”

They shared gifts with one another and had a beautiful ceremony combining both their families (they each have two daughters). Plus, the newlyweds tore it up on the dance floor all night with their closest friends and family. With the onset of COVID, they had thought about eloping, but when it came down to it, they wanted their daughters to be there and for it to be a night to remember for them too. And their Steamboat destination wedding definitely delivered.

Kind Words

We asked Tasha and Michael about their experience working with Aflatis and they shared this,

“Lindsey (the wedding planner) recommended Aflatis and when I saw Adam’s portfolio, I was enthralled with this artistic storytelling capability and how he used the natural landscape and music to evoke emotion.

We feel so lucky to have the opportunity to work with Adam and his amazing team. By the end of the wedding, Michael and I (as well as our daughters!) felt like he was a part of our tribe and just happened to be capturing footage.”

Tasha and Michael, we are so honored by your testimonial and feel like family to you as well. Thank you so much for including us in your wedding day and we pray all the blessings for your future and family!
