Spring in Colorado proved to be the perfect setting for Erica and Dylan’s wedding celebration. We were blessed with the opportunity to be a part of Erica + Dylan’s special day and create their traditional Catholic wedding film.
Erica and Dylan lived mere miles apart for years before finally meeting online. Dylan impressed Erica after commenting on a photograph of her themed birthday party— thereby admitting their shared appreciation of the classic animated series Rainbow Brite. The busy couple got to know each other for a few weeks before meeting in person. Their first date lasted more than four hours, and the couple has been inseparable ever since.
Dylan involved Erica’s whole family in his proposal. When Erica arrived at her brother’s house expecting to take part in a family photo, Dylan surprised her with a house full of rose petals and a swoon-worthy proposal. Erica tearfully but enthusiastically accepted Dylan’s proposal. They then walked next door where Erica’s whole family was waiting for a champagne celebration.
A Traditional Catholic Wedding Film
COVID restrictions and an intimate guest list meant Erica and Dylan designed their wedding to perfection. The ceremony included a full Catholic mass which incorporated Erica and Dylan’s favorite hymns, readings, and songs. Erica even surprised Dylan with a live opera performance. Erica looked stunning, impressing her guests by doing her own makeup. Dylan is a former Navy aviator so he opted to wear his Navy Whites for the ceremony. A small group of their closest family and friends watched as Erica and Dylan exchanged vows.
The reception took place in a cabin next to a lake, paying homage to Dylan’s upbringing in the mountains and Erica’s lakeside childhood memories. The celebration was filled with love and laughter as the instrumental playlist was occasionally interrupted by familiar theme music such as the Star Wars Darth Vader March.
Big Plans for the Future
Dylan is hard at work in Medical School so the couple has decided to put their honeymoon on hold. They hope to find some time this spring to slip away for a much-deserved vacation before starting their family. Although they anticipate many challenges and changes as Dylan continues his career in the Navy, Dylan and Erica couldn’t be more excited to begin their new lives together.
When we asked the couple what it was like working with Aflatis, they shared,
“I found Aflatis online when googling for a videographer and I was struck by how gorgeous and high quality the videos were. I contacted Adam and he was awesome… he was fantastic the day of. Super sweet and easy to be around!”
We were honored to take part in Erica + Dylan’s joyous union and wish them a lifetime of happiness as husband and wife!
